Background Information: On Jan. 20, the Senate is scheduled to vote on an amendment introduced by Alaskan Senator Lisa Murkowski that would strip the EPA of its ability to limit most carbon pollution. The proposal would effectively block action authorized by the Clean Air Act, mandated by the U.S. Supreme Court and recommended by scientists and public health experts.
